THANK YOU!!!My head has finally stopped spinning after the incredible poetry performances at the opening event of my exhibition The Dark Ages… and I want to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who made the event possible.Firstly, thank you to all those who came to the opening, bringing such enthusiasm for my art and big smiles for the performers… without you the event wouldn’t have been such a memorable one. I really appreciate you all for coming. Some friends who I haven’t seen since school came, making the event feel very special.I was so happy that my four favourite poets agreed to perform. It was a pleasure to see so much artistry in one room. It felt like a perfect balance of styles that held the four corners of human experience:*Edson Burton’s garrulous and mischievous performance, deftly code-switching between Shakespeare and Shabba Ranks, bringing soulful yearning and belly-laughter as he led a poetic tag team.
*Muneera’s cheeky, angry and life-affirming words inspired and enthralled the room.
*Tracy Heather Johnson’s darkly velvet voice, feeling like warm honeyed-cyanide being poured into the ears, quietly revelling in the disturbing qualities of desire.
*Bad Featherz left our minds blown, wondering what on earth we had just witnessed, and wondering how we could possibly describe a performance that had no frame of reference and seemed to spring fully-armed from the earth, like a new form of creature. He stalked the room like a feral entity, possessed by poetry.I feel so grateful to know such brilliant creative people, and I was so happy to be able to bring them all together in one room. They turned the night into an unforgettable experience.As an independently-minded person, I usually feel I should do everything myself, but feeling very overwhelmed by the amount of preparation needed to put a solo show, I asked friends for help… and they made the impossible happen!I felt like I had created an event which fed people’s eyes, ears and stomachs… it was a lovely feeling to see everyone so happy. The stress of the preparation drove me crazy and I struggled to keep going with barely any sleep for several days… but I would like to do it all again!

Solo Exhibition at HOURS:Opening 6-9pm Friday 28/02/25
Open: 11am-5pm Saturday 01/03/25
& 11am-5pm Sunday 02/03/25(After the opening weekend the exhibition is viewable by appointment until 16/03/25)I'm very happy to be exhibiting in the beautiful HOURS art gallery at the end of this month.The opening event will have poetry from 8pm by the wonderful poets Edson Burton, Tracy Heather Johnson, Muneera Pilgrim and Bad Featherz (the artist formerly known as Pink Sly).HOURS is a beautiful gallery with breathtaking views across the rooftops of the city centre, set back from the main road in a small cobbled mews. Entrance to HOURS is through an archway at the top of Colston Avenue, opposite the BRI hospital. If you arrive early, you'll be greeted by a spectacular sunset across the rooftops...I'm showing recent work, which is created as a direct emotional reaction to the current age of anxiety over the last two years, this series of monochromatic painted biro drawings tries to find sense in an unpredictable, precarious world. A stream of consciousness feed, aspiring to explore higher states, but invaded by intrusive thoughts of industrial genocide, growing fascism, rampant consumerism, unaccountable oligarchy, media overload and social isolation, while the world careers blindly towards climate breakdown…Come to the opening for poetry and conversation... or come on the Saturday or Sunday if you would like to quietly view the art and chat to the artist - I'll be there keeping it open.I'm looking forward to this with great excitement!
